Regional Director of Sales/Operations

 

Job Summary:

We are currently recruiting for a Regional Director of Sales/Operations  South Region. This position will cover the Texas and Arkansas markets and will direct the activities of the sales organization. The Director will also develop sales strategies for new business, and retention of existing business within each region, to maximize the company’s revenue and operating income objectives.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops and provides semi-annual regional business plan to senior management
  • Guides and directs Area Managers and Territory Representatives to develop and implement semi-annual business plans by sales location to meet sales and operating income goals
  • Manages sales office operations for region including customer retention, ship not billed, staffing and customer service compliance
  • Ensures sales operation team supports business plan objectives through validation of intake and customer maintenance processes
  • Operational and regulatory compliance for region
  • Monitors and fulfills training needs of Area Managers and Sales Representatives
  • Validates sales office adherence to company business practices and provides coaching as necessary
  • Facilitates sales training programs in the field including boot camp and ride-alongs
  • Develops sales incentive plans with Vice President of Sales
  • Monitors effectiveness of incentive plans
  • Monitors regional distribution functions including but not limited to: products stocked, inventory levels, back orders and utilization of specials and no charge items
  • Establishes market position for region (price, promotion, place, product)
  • Develops and implements sales department budgets annually
  • Develops sales tracking systems (competition, account activity, sales activity)
  • Analyzes sales trends, new business to annuity, product group sales, potential accounts
  • Analyzes and structures sales territories to meet budgets
  • Plans / conducts sales meetings
  • Implements MC contracts in region
  • Monitors competitive activities and develops competitive strategies to respond to these activities
  • Monitors the usage of company equipment assigned to staff
  • Identifies new programs for development by the Marketing Department
  • Interviews, selects, ensures orientation, training, and when necessary disciplines and/or discharges departmental personnel
  • Miscellaneous projects as assigned by manager
  • Develops key accounts in region

Experience/Qualifications/Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of five year’s sales management experience preferably in the healthcare field
  • Medical supply sales and/or sales management experience a plus
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Proven track record of sales management success and track record of meeting budgets through sales teams
  • Experience in hiring, training, and developing sales teams in highly competitive markets
  • Knowledge of managed care market
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
