Position Overview
Accountable for overall Deployment activities to deliver projects across all functions and towers (New Capabilities, Automation and Upgrades) within the Enterprise Governance & Continuous Improvement organization. In this role, the Deployment Manager will operate as a player / coach role to manage and execute the planning and delivery of all activities within the Deployment Realization area adhering to the overall project management and governance controls. This role is expected to partner with the EG&CI Realization Management and Integrated Projects Delivery teams, Office of the CIO, Functional COEs, Corporate IT Leadership and Corporate IT Release Manager to ensure successful deployment execution with extreme bias towards safeguarding the integrity of the organization’s process and solution design while mitigating business disruption.
Key Role Responsibilities:
Accountable for overall management for project cutover planning, system cutover execution, project hypercare planning and development of applicable exit criteria, hypercare execution and exit management, including metrics and reporting for related activities
Accountable for overall coordination and escalations with the Integrated Projects Delivery teams, Governance Council, and business users for all deployment deliverables (cutover plan, transport management, blackout activities, resource planning, etc)
Work closely with Data Migration, Test & Defect Management, and Readiness teams to ensure Deployment needs are incorporated into the respective plans and respective team activities are incorporated into the overall Cutover and Hypercare plan
Oversight and quality assurance of Data Migration activities are sequence, critical path planned and dependencies are understood for successful execution
Oversight and quality assurance of Test & Defect Management as relates to the entrance and exit criteria to successfully transition from one phase to another
Oversight and partnership of readiness management and communication with business stakeholders, Governance Council and Integrated Project Delivery in planning cutover and hypercare activities
Development and execution to Deployment playbooks for use across EGCI and projects executed at all levels of the corporation (local, functional, and enterprise)
Adherence to project governance and controls
Skill sets Required:
Functional / Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of deployment concepts, strategies and their application to tactical execution of project activities, including but not limited to system and data cutover, hypercare management, and transition to operational end state
Strong understanding of the integration and dependencies between technical, functional, data, and business operational needs to define, plan, and execute cutover activities while minimizing business disruption
Strong understanding of managing transitions between project phases and management of hypercare for technical and business operational success
Project management experience to ensure adherence to governance, controls and best practices
S/4 HANA and Solution Manager experience is a plus
