About the role:
The COO will work as a strategic partner to the CEO/PCL to implement strategies and manage operations intended to accomplish our short- and long-term goals. The COO will plan and direct all operational policies, objectives, initiatives while setting direction for development of the organization to ensure future growth. The COO will have direct management oversight of all operational units within the business and work closely with all Company leaders, including peers and direct reports, to execute the multi-year strategy for the entire organization. It is expected to execute multiple high impact initiatives each year to achieve overall corporate goals.
Core Responsibilities: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Partner with leaders across the organization to evaluate and implement operational efficiencies and alignment across systems, teams, and resources.
Identify and employ tools and technology that will positively increase efficiency, quality, and consistency.
Leads business initiatives tied to the client servicing teams, provides management and direction to assigned teams.
Identify and provide solutions associated with department design, development, deployment, and maintenance of workflow templates for products and processes.
Ensure corporate requirements related to internal audit are tracked and met by processes put in place.
Enhance alignment, consistent and appropriate communication while helping create synergies with strategic partners and B&B companies.
Work across the business to insure we maintain our technology development roadmap as it relates to business growth and operational efficiency.
Drive the purpose and facilitate productive Executive Leadership dialogue through productive meetings. Oversight of purpose, schedule, and initiatives behind leadership meetings, including connecting deliverables and dependencies.
Provide oversight and translation for all department business objectives, act as a soundboard, and provide guidance to leaders. Ensure there is some degree of consistency in our approach and alignment to company objectives.
Provide oversight of strategic planning yearly timeline, including facilitation of strategic meetings quarterly and annually, to remain in alignment of the organization’s goals.
Provide visibility to and ensure utilization of B&B resources and tools if needed, and provide process to strategic M&A activity and acquisitions pipeline.
Manage and maintain our Corporate SWOT Analysis. Work with leadership team to help develop strategies to address opportunities & weakness, build defenses to outside threats and to maintain our positions of strength.
Manage, mentor, develop and grow the Operations teammates within the organization
Ensure bandwidth and capacity of workload is managed appropriately and create a scalability model to follow.

Skills needed:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
15+ years of operations leadership experience preferred, prior experience in COO role preferred.
Expertise in employee benefits business, experience leading operations teams in a Benefits business.
Significant experience leading teams, motivating and coaching high-performing teams
Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite and related business tools
Strong attention to detail with highly developed organizational skills
Strong analytical skills
Excellent facilitation and communication skills; ability to synthesize data and shape outcomes.
