Summary:
Under the supervision of the Chief of Medicine the Medical Director will serve as an enterprise leader. The primary responsibilities of this role will include but is not limited to providing leadership to the healthcare center staff with regards to healthcare plan quality improvement by continuous measuring and monitoring the improvement of our healthcare center operations. Essential Duties & Responsibilities for the Healthcare Centers:
Maintains standards for productivity set by management seeing an average minimum of 14 patients per day. Ensures compliance with standard by coordinating patient scheduling to compensate for no-show rate. Responsible for chart review and peer review following the guidelines established by the Policies and Procedures Committee. Must review 5 charts per week per clinic. Responsible for conducting or delegating peer review of providers
Maintains adequate provider staffing in the healthcare center to ensure smooth flow of patients. This will include coordination of vacation schedules such that not more than one provider is out on scheduled vacation
Manages the day-to-day operations and decision-making involving facility, operations and administrative staff (including satellite locations) to ensure quality care. Oversees the administrative staff schedules (i.e., attendance and vacation schedules) for proper coverage
Implement an integrated and consistent business model strategy across the organization through clear articulation of the vision and effective collaboration with line management and staff. Manages the healthcare center budget, financial reporting and billing as required. Ensures compliance with DOH, OSHA, HCFA, HIPAA and all other applicable regulations. Develop significant partnerships with external organizations including: community health centers, manage care, state and federal governmental agencies.
Ensures that annual organizational goals and objectives including new business opportunities and revenue targets are met. Conduct research and market data analyses to revise the organization’s business model, in light of the evolving health care landscape
Participate in the domestic expansion model including business development and vendor relationship/management. Maintains productivity to standards set by management. This will include counseling staff and trouble-shooting as necessary
Responsible for the supervision of overall clinic administration. Reports to Regional Medical Director on above mentioned issues
The position of HCC Medical Director will be re-evaluated every 6 months by healthcare center staff and management for evaluation of personnel management and leadership skills. Leadership seminars will be recommended as appropriate. In order to ensure adequate time for the execution of these responsibilities, not more than 4 hours per week may be blocked out of patient care hours. If more time is required, prior authorization must be obtained from the Chief of Medicine.

Education and/or Experience
Doctorate degree (M.D., Ph.D., R.Ph.) or equivalent; or more than 10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Mathematical Skills
High Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, rations, and proportions to practical solutions.
Reasoning Ability
Highest Skills: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.,) and its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
Certificates, Licenses and Registrations
Valid Medical Board License from the State of Florida (without restrictions)
Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice
AAHIVM Certified, preferred
Valid DEA furnishings license

Staff Physician Floater (Greater Los Angeles Area)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Begins assigned clinics on time.
Maintains standards for productivity set by management, on average seeing 20 patients per day. Ensures compliance with standard by coordinating patient scheduling to compensate for no-show rate.
Provides on-call coverage on rotation schedule.
Reviews laboratory test results and other reports.
Authorizes refills for medications.
Completes diagnosis forms, applications for SSI, Medi-Cal and HRSA forms in a timely manner.
Reviews charts and performs peer reviews as assigned.
Provides supervision to mid-level providers and signs their charts as assigned.
Attends all clinic case conferences to discuss difficult patients.
Works with nursing and front office staff to accommodate urgent care/walk-in patients.
Speaks directly to inpatient physician at appropriate hospital, writes out H&P (History and Physical) and admitting orders at time of patient admission; Gives H&P and admitting orders to patient to take to emergency room.
Schedules vacation or conference leave time at least one month in advance, and arranges for own coverage.

As an HIV Primary Care Practitioner your clinical skills will be utilized in our outpatient healthcare centers. Our Family/Internal Medicine/ID Practitioners have the opportunity to work hands-on with our patients and offer the highest quality of care. Our healthcare providers include Physicians, Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. As a member of our interdisciplinary team of primary care clinicians, mental health providers, case managers and researchers you will actively participate in improving the lives of patients who are living with HIV/AIDS. You will work in collaboration with the HCC Medical Staff to ensure quality customer service; quality clinical care and timely evaluation and management in the primary medical care of our patients. In order to ensure adequate time for the execution of these responsibilities, Physicians, PA and RNP’s are allocated a standard 4 hours of administrative time (per week- See Administrative Time Policy & Procedure). If more time is required, prior authorization must be obtained from the Regional Medical Director.
