Job Overview:
The Regional Medical Expert is a key member of the HIV team, reporting to the Executive Regional Medical Director. In support of our commitment to End the HIV Epidemic in the US, we are seeking a highly qualified medical leader in HIV treatment and prevention to support our US medical education initiatives and opportunities to improve health outcomes in people with HIV and people benefiting from HIV prevention. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HIV management, extensive clinical experience and a proven track record in research. This role involves engaging with clinicians with varying levels of HIV knowledge to enhance their awareness of the latest scientific data and innovations that could impact the quality of HIV care and prevention, especially in communities with high incidence of new HIV infections.

Responsibilities:

  • Support and implement scientific educational programs focused on status neutral approach, HIV treatment and prevention for healthcare professional at all levels of expertise.

  • Support the HIV Field and Strategy teams, identifying opportunities for alignment and synergies across HIV Treatment and Prevention that demonstrate our commitment to EHE.

  • Collaborate on research projects and real-world evidence that improve the care cascade across HIV treatment and prevention and address unmet needs in clinical practice and patient care.

  • Serve as scientific reviewer for study concepts, abstracts, and manuscripts from the US.

  • Provide inspirational leadership to the HIV field teams working in the region by creating an environment of collaboration, partnership, mutual respect, and shared goals with clear responsibilities.

    Essential Skill s and Qualifications:

  • M.D., D.O., PharmD, DNP or DPA with a minimum of 10 years managing HIV patients in diverse setting; a background in infectious diseases, public health, or related field preferred.

  • Demonstrated expertise in HIV treatment and prevention protocols, strategies, and patient care.

  • Research experience with a strong publication record.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to engage internal and external stakeholders and educate a wide range of healthcare audience.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.

  • Provide clear leadership and management in the development and delivery of a variety of highly complex projects with the ability to assess, understand and communicate continuously expanding medical and scientific information.

  • Must be willing to learn and adhere to Gilead's regulatory and legal (Business Conduct) requirements.

  • Able to work with a level of autonomy and independence and able to manage budgeting/oversight of operational expenses.

  • Regional role with the flexible travel schedules up to 60 percent.

    The salary range for this position is: $249,645.00 - $323,070.00. Our client considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
