Senior Embedded SW Test Automation Engineer

Overview The candidate must be self-managed, and proactively solve issues and problems with a minimum of direction. Excellent communication skills and the ability to contribute at a high level in a tight-knit team environment are a must. The candidate will conduct functional, security compliance, environmental, operational, and performance tests on electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and software products and systems. The candidate will also need to analyze product requirements to determine feasibility of testing / validation within time and cost constraints.
Responsibilities • Operating in an Agile development environment, including Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI/CD). • Delivering scripts (code) for test automation, building/augmenting automation framework, and infrastructure for integration with tool-chains and dashboards. • Working with software engineering to develop APIs and CLIs to support automated testing, remote testing/diagnosing, and fault injection. • Design, develop, modify and execute test plans using scientific analysis and/or mathematical models to predict and measure outcome. • Work with Customer Service and Technical Support teams to help resolve customer issues. • Demonstrate aptitude in recognizing and solving problems as part of a team or individually. • Demonstrate ability in testing/validating complex systems and software designs. • Evaluate and identify new technologies appropriate for implementation. • Create detailed test and validation documentation. • Accurately scope tasks and implement them in accordance with the plan. • Foster teamwork among peers. • Maintain a positive attitude throughout typical work related challenges. • Interface with individuals outside of engineering. • Experience with automation test tools strongly desired (Python, Robot, MySQL, Jira, TestLink, TFS/VSTS, Zephyr)
Qualifications EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: • Undergraduate degree in a Computer Science or Electrical Engineering discipline. Experience Requirements • Recent 7+ years of relevant experience • Must have experience working in an Agile environment with CI/CD. • Must have experience with automation frameworks and API based test automation • Must have experience validating end-to-end systems and solutions • Must have experience with Linux operating system and CLI • Must have exposure to testing for product security vulnerabilities • Must have scripting experience with either Shell, Python, Java or other scripting languages • Preferred experience with Robot automation framework, Python scripting, or bash scripts • Must understand test coverage metrics and ability to project accurate state of test readiness, test completeness, and time to finish. • Preferred experience in software quality and reliability.
