Position Overview:
This position is responsible for all North America Plant & Health Business Management which includes definition of the strategies and policies of Marketing (Market Intelligence, CRM, Portfolio and Price Management) and Sales by aiming to actively contribute for the growth and profitability of the business, in accordance with the targets established by the shareholders.
Manage commercial and access performance in your region of operation.
Implement commercial and market access strategies to achieve commercial objectives for sales, product mix, margins, POG, SOC, and Market Share in your region.
Manage, train, motivate and charge a team under your responsibility, focusing on priority actions regarding portfolio, crops, and customers.
Align and integrate the plant health business strategy with the sales and marketing teams in the region, regarding access, portfolio, market development and demand generation.
The position is based in Philadelphia, PA, at the FMC headquarters office.
Additional Responsibilities:
Full P&L accountability for the plant health business in North America
Ensure the development and growth of the brand through the provision of Marketing strategies, policies, and programs, by defining criteria, analyzing data and directing the implementation of specific actions for each product.
Ensure that Marketing function initiatives focus on business strategy and priorities, managing budget, monitoring results, and evaluating the need for review.
Ensure the follow-up of macro and microeconomic movements, market competition and trends, and new business, by defining tools and methodologies focused on Market Intelligence.
Develop regional long range and annual plans for the plant health business, with consideration and integration to the regional business.
Define the details of the annual plan and execution: go to market, budget and S&OP.
Align all direct reports and functional leaders behind well-defined targets and set of priorities.
Be an active member of the US Crop business and leadership teams to ensure alignment and synergy.
Collaborate closely with US and Canadian senior leaders to develop mutual goals and targets for the business.
Inspire and drive the growth of sales and brand profitability by developing criteria for analyzing and diagnosing sales and products, as well as by following up analyses and market research associated to the products and their results regarding plans already established.
Keep the integration with the regional commercial and operational functions regarding decision-making and establishment of joint strategies, by bringing data on trends to help product design, distribution, and specification/change needs.
Provide alternatives for increasing productivity and reducing costs, by leading the project in accordance with the demand of customers, installed capacity, among other variables.
Identify improvement opportunities by participating in national and international trade shows, doing technological innovation research, market trend follow-up and observing competitor moves regarding the development of new products.
Hold periodic meetings with your team, manage results, goals, and performance. Whenever possible, bring together and support teams at strategic customers.
Monitor orders, revenue, margins, POG, inventory, and other key commercial and marketing information (sales force effectiveness).
Define, align, and monitor team activities aimed at generating demand and market development.
Ensure excellent service to channels and producers in your region.
Carry out performance assessments of employees in the area, provide feedback and propose functional and behavioral improvements of performance.
Perform other tasks related to the position, as necessary or at the discretion of your manager.
Skills and Experience:
Bachelors in Science, Business, or related field.
Biological science/technical background is an upside.
Plant health background and experience as Biological Market Developers, Biological Technical Sales, or biological sales required.
Previous work experience with a biological company or experience handling a biological portfolio.
Capacity for interaction, relationships, communication, and negotiation of value.
Knowledge of business, strategies, market, logistics, finance, and leadership.
Analytical reasoning, ability to make decisions and take risks.
Act with empathy, flexibility, and resilience.
